Liver disorders. Consumption of Cordyceps improved the condition of subjects suffering from
hepatitis B or cirrhosis of the liver. Similar results were obtained in subjects suffering from
hepatitis B.
Kidney disorders. Studies have shown that Cordyceps can improve kidney function. In subjects
treated with an antibiotic with toxic effects on renal function, it was found that the kidneys of
patients taking a supplement of the mushroom were better protected against the toxic effects of the
drug.
Immune system. People taking Cordyceps supplements were found to have a better immune system
response to infections, and also to autoimmune conditions such as lupus. In cases of cancer, an
improvement in patients' quality of life has also been observed.
Heart disorders. Cordyceps is said to increase levels of good cholesterol (HDL) and lower total
cholesterol. It is therefore a good adjuvant to treatments aimed at improving the cardiovascular
system.
Respiratory system Other studies seem to show that Cordyceps is also effective in certain
respiratory problems affecting the bronchi or lungs.
Cordyceps supplements are commercially available in various forms. This
mushroom has curative properties very similar to those of Ginseng, and its use has demonstrated a
excellent synergy between the two plants.
